ChatGPT makes the leap to Automotive AI

This chatbot, developed using OpenAI's large language model and Cerence’s Chat Pro software, will be incorporated in Volkswagen's voice assistant system, IDA. Set to debut in Europe in the second quarter, it will feature in models like ID.7, ID.4, ID.5, ID.3, Tiguan, Passat, and Golf, with considerations for a U.S. release still ongoing. The chatbot is designed to enhance the driving experience by providing researched content, answering vehicle-specific queries, and enabling natural, conversational interactions either via the "Hello IDA" wake word or a steering wheel button.
